The Brief
Our Canary Wharf Division engaged with workplace design & build specialists Unispace to deliver the flooring for the new Zoom Experience Centre in Central London. The new London office was designed to shape the future of work and collaboration, and place Zoom’s industry-leading technology at its heart for its UK employees and visitors.
With the brand new space offering the most cutting edge technology to staff and visitors the client opted for durable but sleek floor finishes through out the majority of the areas. LVT tiles and wood effect plank by Tarkett and Plus Floor were installed through out the reception area, breakout spaces and the central walkway around the buildings main atrium.
Our specialist installers were able to cut the product with accuracy, to create some exceptional curved transitions, neatly accented by floor trims from C.A.T. Accessories. The LVT finish was suitable for high foot traffic from visitors and provided an easy to clean surface.
At the core of Zoom’s Experience Centre lies the Discovery Showcase. This space is the centrepiece of every guest’s journey, where Zoom experts can provide interactive demonstrations, designed to inspire, inform, and educate.
For this space the client moved away from LVT and opted for a carpet tile instead. This softer floor finish offered acoustic advantages for the fully immersive space at the same same as providing a comforting feel under foot.
A mix of carpet tiles from Shaw Contract, EGE and Interface were used through out the project. Some of the breakout areas featured bespoke inset rugs to breakup the LVT finishes.
A complex degree of coordination was required with the electrical and glazing contractor, as under floor power requirements needed to be accessible to maintain the large LED media walls that flowed through the entire space.
