The Brief
New Timber Yard is a sustainability driven office space in the heart of Hammersmith, London. Interior fit-out specialists, Artemis Interior Services were contracted to deliver the fit-out of the new flexible workspace, that included new floor finishes throughout.
Every detail of this design was meticulously considered to cultivate an unparalleled office environment, setting it apart from the rest. The ground floor areas of the 3 office spaces featured an engineered timber plank floor running throughout. The fumed Oak timber flooring perfectly complimented the eco friendly feel of the space. The timber flooring was installed by directly bonding to the screed using Mapei S955 adhesive.
The perimeter of the timber flooring was finished with a black angled trim from C.A.T. Accessories to give a clean detail against the exposed brickwork, while still allowing the required expansion gap on the timber.
The interior steal staircases to the first floor lead to an open plan office area that featured a Balsan carpet tile throughout. The TRUST carpet tile from Balsan’s Renaissance Collection is a new line of contemporary tiles that has a stylish, graphic look offering a universal appeal. Over 300m2 of tiles were installed across the first floor.
The external doorways that lead to the outdoor court yard featured sunken coir entrance matting in a neutral colour to compliment the timber flooring.
